Search
Use the Search page or the icon in the navigation bar to search for a Z-Wave device based in brand, name or part number.
Before searching or if there were no results, the page will show a list of devices that were recently added to the database. Click the device brand, name or the icon in the upper right corner of a device card to go to the device's details page.
The search results will display all matching devices in a table (cards on mobile) that are available in your region. If there are no results in your region you may broaden your search worldwide by clicking the link above the table.
You can filter the search results based on Brand, Name, Product part number, Z-Wave chip series, whether it has configuration parameters or not and by region if you searched worldwide. User the CLEAR or CLEAR ALL buttons to turn of your filters.
On the results table click the icon at the end of each line to jump to the device's details page or the icon to add it to device comparison. If the device is already on the comparison list, the icon will be red and clicking it will remove the device from the comparison list.
Device details
You will see all the details about a device and images of the device.
All data is based on what the manufacturer has provided when certifying the device.
For more details you can open several sections on the page where you see a downward facing triangle.
A unique function is that you can download the configuration parameters as provided by the manufacturer in different formats. Currently Fibaro and Comfortclick formats are supported. You can easily import these into your smart home hub which will save you time and possible mistakes. You have to (register and) log into the site to be able to download the configuration parameter files.
You can view further information without logging in if the manufacturer has provided the data:
- View configuration parameters
- View operating instructions (include, exclude, reset)
- View documents like manuals
- View features of the device like color, battery quantity and type, maximum power, etc.
- View the list of supported notifications, sensors and meters
Compare devices
You can view and compare all the details of up to 5 devices.
Add devices
Add devices to the comparison list from several places by clicking the icon:
- List of latest devices
- Search results
- Device details page
On the device details page the
Remove devices
Click the icon to remove the device from the comparison list. On the device details page click the
View comparison
You need to add at least 2 devices to be able to compare. In that case, the
Compare widget
When at least 2 devices are added to the compare list, another compare button will appear in the top navigation bar: [X]
- Click the icon and the number to go to the comparison page.
- Hover over them without clicking to show you a list of devices in the comparison list.
- Click the icon next to the devices in the comparison list to remove them from the list. If there are only 2 devices left, these buttons will disappear.
- Click the icon on the Compare widget to remove all devices from the comparison list. You will be asked to confirm so you don't clear the list accidentally.
Compare page
On tha compare page, you can see the devices on your compare list in a table with all their details organized into sections. Differences are highlighted with a reddish background.
Click the Remove button at the top of the table to remove that device from the comparison table. This button is only visible if there are more than 2 devices on the list. To remove the last 2 devices, click the icon to remove them from the comparison. You will remain on the compare page.
Click on the device image to open the details page of that device.
Email notifications
You can subscribe to email notification about devices and the website's functions.
You will receive an email of a new device was added to the database in your region.
You can change your email notification preferences or completely unsubscribe using the links at the bottom of the emails you receive.
Import configuration parameters
The steps below will guide you how you can import a configuration parameter file downladed into your Smart Home hub.Fibaro
- Open the Settings Interface
- Select your Z-Wave device in the Devices tree.
- Open the
Parameters tab. - Press the Upload template button
- Select the JSON file you downloaded from inwave.pro. The parameters will be loaded.
- Either go through the parameters you are intereseted and press the Read button to get its current value, or press RESET PARAMETERS to reset all parametres to the default values.
Comfortclick bOS
- Open bOS Configurator.
- Select your Z-Wave device in the Devices tree.
- On the Settings tab in the Node Settings group, press the ... button at the end of the Parameters row.
- Press the Import button.
- Select the JSON file you downloaded from inwave.pro. The parameters will be loaded.
- Go through the parameters you are intereseted and press the Edit button, then the Get button to get its current value.
